The Pike Place Market Foundation is a cause close to my heart since my studio is a part of the amazing community of businesses, artists, farmers and residents of Pike Place Market.
The Pike Place Market Foundation supports the Pike Place Market community through things like low-income housing, health care, access to healthy food, high-quality preschool and a senior center.
Throughout the COVID crisis they have supported the community in a variety of ways. The food bank is collecting groceries for shoppers and providing delivery services. Neighborcare Health continues to provide medical care and a pharmacy. And, the Senior Center has provided 2 meals per day on a take-out basis. Your support of the Pike Place Market Foundation will help ensure that they can continue to provide this vital support to the businesses and residents who call the market home.
Ventures is a non-profit providing access to business training, capital, coaching and hands-on learning opportunities for entrepreneurs with limited resources and unlimited potential. They have a retail store in Pike Place Market that gives new businesses an opportunity to bring their products to market.
Access to training, capital and coaching are so important for makers and entrepreneurs who are trying to get their businesses off the ground. This is particularly true for women and people of color.
Your support of Ventures will help ensure that they can continue to help these small businesses get and maintain a solid start. This is especially important now as small businesses struggle to stay afloat due to the economic impacts of COVID-19.
Through their Chefs for America initiative, World Central Kitchen is working across America to safely distribute individually packaged, fresh meals in communities that need support – for children and families to pick up and take home, as well as delivery to seniors who cannot venture outside. To date, WCK has provided over 30 million meals in more than 400 cities.
Traditional safety nets like school feeding programs, city services, and food banks are struggling to meet basic needs. Seniors, who are isolated for their safety, are unable to access meal services. Meanwhile, the country’s hospital workers are more stretched than ever before.
Your donation can help support this vital program for Americans facing food insecurity due to COVID-19.
